Focus Press is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certified. As part of our commitment to more environmentally responsible paper stocks, we only use paper with Chain of Custody (CoC) certification for our standard house stock: either Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) even if there are cheaper alternatives available.
FSC and PEFC
FSC and PEFC are independent organisations that promote sustainable forest management, reforestation and continuous improvement in standards and practices. They ensure that paper certified to FSC or PEFC standards comes from forests that are managed according to strict environmental, economic and socially responsible standards. In doing so they help to support sustainable forest management around the world.
Chain of Custody Certification
Focus Press pursues Chain-of-Custody (CoC) certification for all paper purchases. CoC certification is a mechanism for tracing a product along the supply chain and provides consumers with the assurance that a paper product has been manufactured and processed according to social and environmental standards from the forest to the final product.
