In 2000 Focus Press joined the EPA's Industry Partner Program, a government initiative to assist 'early adopters' in the environmental space. As an early adopter, Focus Press partnered with the EPA to create their environmental policy for the industry, then helped them roll it out across the industry. Indeed, we still work closely with the EPA and still maintain the Clean Production Strategy that the relationship helped put in place.
In 2002 we earned ISO9001 accreditation, recognising our quality systems as world's best. Even today most printing companies do not make the commitment nor have the where with all to realise such a significant achievement.
2002 was a big year for Focus Press as we put in place an Environmental Management System as a important prelude to achieving formal accreditation.
In 2004 we achieved ISO 14001 accreditation, meaning our EMS is now recognised as world's best too. ISO 14001 is a standard for environmental management systems to be implemented in any business, regardless of size, location or income. The aim of the standard is to reduce the environmental footprint of a business and to decrease the pollution and waste a business produces.
In 2009 Focus Press received an Achievement Award at the NSW Dept of the Environment's Green Globe Awards, which recognised our environmental efforts to date.
